Why we started

We got tired of guessing what was in our own bathroom cabinet.

Every bottle of shampoo, jar of moisturizer and tube of foundation carries a label most of us were never taught to read. Instead, we rely on packaging claims — "natural," "clean," "dermatologist-approved" — that carry no legal definition and no accountability.

Stryppd started with a simple question: what would it look like if someone just explained, plainly, what's actually in these products, where it comes from, and why it's there? No fear-mongering, no brand loyalty, no affiliate agenda dictating the answer.

What we stand for

Four words guide everything we publish.

C

Clarity

Chemical names translated into plain language — what it is, what it does, nothing lost in jargon.

A

Authenticity

We say when something is genuinely fine, not just when it's alarming. Balance over clicks.

T

Trust

Every claim is traceable to a source — regulatory data, published research or formulation science.

S

Stripped

No sponsored rankings, no manufactured urgency, no filler. If it doesn't inform you, it doesn't run.

How we research

From ingredient list to plain-English verdict.

1. We pull the raw formulation

Starting from the INCI ingredient list on the product itself or public regulatory filings.

2. We identify function and origin

What role each ingredient plays in the formula, and whether it's typically derived from petrochemical, plant, mineral or synthetic-biology sources.

3. We check the evidence

Cross-referencing regulatory assessments (FDA, EU CosIng, CIR) and peer-reviewed research on safety and irritation potential.

4. We publish the plain-language verdict

A clear read on what it means for your skin, hair or health — flagged honestly, without dramatizing routine ingredients.

Where we're headed

From education to a product line worth trusting.

Stryppd starts as a place to learn — but the long-term goal is bigger. Once we've built a track record of honest, well-sourced ingredient education, we plan to formulate our own line of personal care products: skincare, haircare and cosmetics made exactly as transparently as we ask brands to be.

No undisclosed fragrance blends. No filler claims. Ingredients you can look up on the same site that taught you what to look for.
